Each month we feature one Cyclescheme participant and share their commuting story. We ask the same seven questions (hence the name, The Cyclescheme Seven) in a bid to build up a picture of cycle commuters across the UK. This month we caught up with David to see how her commute has changed his life.
CS: Where in the UK are you?
Lancashire
CS: What was your main motivation for getting a bike through Cyclescheme?
I was able to purchase a good quality Mountain Bike.
CS: What bike did you get and why?
My first bike was Specialized Rockhopper and then I got a Cinelli Seatta road bike on my next Cyclescheme request.

CS: How much did you spend with your Cyclescheme Certificate?
Both of my Cyclescheme certificates came to £1,000 which emant I only paid £750 over the course of 12 months.
CS: How often do you commute to work by bike?
I probably average two times a week throughout the year.
CS: Where do you commute from and to?
Stacksteads - Accrington direct on road is 10 miles, between 11-13 off road. I mix up the routes which can mean a 20 mile commute. During the summer I will usually try to do at least one 30 mile plus ride into work each week.
CS: How has cycling affected your daily life - do you feel healthier? Have you saved money?
Yes, cycling ensures I stay healthy and means that I can continue sharing one car with my wife. During the last twelve months I have saved in excess of £600 on bus fares.
